Stampin Up Quilts

Big Shot vs. Fabric I still can't believe I bought a sewing machine. I have never sewed a day in my life until I got home from Leadership. All of the photos below are lovely quilts and a banner they showed us at leadership. They even had a Stampin' Up demonstrator showing us how easy it is to cut fabric using our Big Shot. I did test this: I can cut 8 pieces of fabric at once using my Big Shot. Now I don't know if I will ever get to the level of making a quilt, but I can say I will make bags and flowers using fabric. You will just have to wait until I get my projects finished, hopefully before summer.

I hope you are inspired by these projects. Even if you don't sew you can use these photos to inspire you to make a card, scrapbook page or gift for someone. All it takes is a photo to inspire you! Use the colors or the pattern. Don't forget to email me your creation so we can brag about you and put you on my blog!!
Just a reminder Sale-a-bration ends March 31st so put your order in today for a free stamp set, designer paper or punch with any $50.00 order.

Happy Mardi Gras!

I meant to post this yesterday, but I ran into a little medical issue. I get my eyes dilated once a year and usually after a couple hours I am fine. I don't know what was up with yesterday but I was so sensitive to light, that I stayed away from the computer and my iphone, which is hard for me to do. So Happy Mardi Gras. I made this card for a friend of mine. I used the circle die on the big shot, crumpled up the paper and put a brad through the middle. Then I watered down the paper to give it a little more shape. I tried to make a little necklace, but it did not turn out the way I wanted, maybe next year!

Valentine's Centerpieces

We are having a Valentine's Dinner at our church tonight and I was put in charge of centerpieces. I was given these champagne flutes and did not have much time. Since I don't do much origami I knew I had to come up with something quick and easy. I had 10 centerpieces to do. I grabbed the Big Shot (my favorite accessory as you are all well aware) and the large scallop circle. I cut 10 sheets of cardstock. I roughed up the paper a bit, like I was going to throw it away, attached the center to flower wire and then squished each layer together. I added some leaves and there you go.
I added chocolate kisses in the flutes to hold the flower in place. Everyone likes chocolate right!

Valentine's Fantasy Box

This is the Fantasy Box closed.
This is the Fantasy Box opened. Please see additional posts for directions. Remember if you order the product to make this box, you can earn a FREE Stamp set or FREE Punch or FREE Designer Paper. Just contact me for more details.

Valentine's Fantasy Box Part I

You should have (4) pieces of chipboard or cardboard 2 1/2 by 5 inches and (1) piece one inch by 5 inches. Spread these along one side of the 6x12 designer paper. Make sure they are evenly spaced because when you are done you will fold this piece to be the outside portion of your box. Then fold the corners in and all the sides, using sticky tape, stick all the corners down then all the sides down like wrapping a package. Take your other 6x12 piece of designer paper and cut down to fit perfectly over the top of your package. Round the corners if desired. Then stick it down with glue stick and sticky tape. Put this side of to the side to dry.
You should have (4) 6x6 pieces of matching cardstock and (1) 8x8 piece (for the lid). Line up the corners in your cutter and score from corner to corner - then turn it and score the other direction corner to corner. You should finish with diagonal lines in the middle of your square.

I know it is hard to see but there are score lines accross this square. Repeat these steps on all 5 pieces of cardstock.

Valentine's Fantasy Box Part II

Take a corner of your 6x6 cardstock and fold up to the score line.
Now Take your corner and fold it backwards as shown in the photo.
Take all the folds and fold back up to the original sore line. Do this on all four corner of your four drawers (6x6) and your lid (8x8).
Pick two corners opposite of each other and cut on the score line from the corner down to the 2nd score line. Do not go to the original score line this will be two far. These will eventually fold in to make the box. Please look at the top photo and bottom photo for more details.

Go from left to right and tape the corner down in the middle (at original score line and fold upwards. Then do the opposite side and then do the ends. When you do the ends, fold the sides in. I am realizing if you did not watch the show this might be a little confusing I will either post the link to the show or post some additional photos. Sorry about that!

Valentine's Fantasy Box Part III

This is the outside of the box. Take your Bone Folder and score along the lines in between the pieces of cardboard, so you have 4 sections and the flap to close the box. This should fold up into the box.
Here is the outside of the box with your drawers to put on the inside. Stagger your 4 drawers so that the box will close so about 1/4 inch in between each one.
Deocrate the inside of your box and fill with candy for that special someone. If you have any questions or would like me to send you these directions in a word format please email me or give me a call and I can send those to you. If this is your first time crafting or you just want a little more instruction, just let me know and we can set up a time for some one on one stamping time. I am here to be your Creative Coach.

KOIN Keep it Local!

Find out how to make this box and what is on the inside. Tune in today to KOIN Keep it Local show from 4:00-5:00pm. I will be demonstrating this box and how it is a fantastic gift for Valentine's Day . I will post all the details, directions and additional photos once the show has aired.

Stampin Up Scrappin Superbowl

The SuperBowl inspired me this weekend. Since I am from Alaska football is not that big of deal to me, but Hockey is another story! Anyways I decided to get in the football mood and start scrappin. I wanted to design my own 12x12 paper so I took a piece of Kraft Cardstock 12x12 and stamped with Chocolate Chip Craft Ink. I took clear embossing powder and embossed the entire page. I took our white gel pen and added little details to the football.
I wanted a larger football, so I took my son's play football, traced it and added some white cardstock for more details. I also used the white gel pen on the laces of the football. Supplies to make this and earn a FREE Stamp set:
107070 12x12 Kraft Cardstock $7.50
102128 Chocolate Chip Cardstock $5.50 8 ½ x 11
